What is the source of the time stamp in the system audit trail in Empower? - WKB64684

Article number: 64684

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3

ANSWER

The source of the time stamp in the system audit trail is the database server.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

TECN1852729 - Origin of date and timestamps in a client/server environment

Notes: The server's time stamp value comes from the Empower database server's clock except in the case of buffering it comes from the LAC/E. The value is adjusted for the node time zone as defined in the Empower node properties, registered during initial login but can be changed after the fact.

In the case of buffered data, the date and time come from the LAC/E. In that scenario, the database and LAC/E timezone files must be of the same version.

The description "Client" includes Citrix servers publishing Empower and Database server includes Linux OS based Empower servers.

The Linux server does not show up in the Empower nodes list because it does not have Empower client software loaded so therefore cannot be registered.
