SYMPTOMS

  • No communication with Waters Alliance e2695
  • The instrument shows "No" in node properties
  • Pinging the instrument from the node results in "request timed out"
  • Other system components are communicating correctly

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3
  • Alliance HPLC System
  • 2695 Separations Module
  • 2424 Evaporative Light Scattering Detector

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Power-off the Alliance 2695.
  2. Open node properties of the node that is connected to the Alliance 2695.
  3. Click on the DHCP Configuration tab.
  4. Click the DHCP Configuration button.
  5. Remove the entry for the Alliance 2695.
  6. Power-up the Alliance 2695.
  7. Wait for the instrument to appear in the DHCP Configuration window.
  8. Check the Instruments tab of the node properties for a "Yes" in the OK column of the table.
