OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Prevent users from saving results from the Empower Review window, but still allow them to modify the processing method in the Review window and apply that to the sample to see if it works.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3

PROCEDURE

1. From the main Empower window, go to Configure the System.
2. Highlight "user type" on the left-hand side of the window.
3. Highlight the user's user type on the right-hand side of the window.
4. Right-click on the user's user type and choose "properties".
5. Click the "Methods" tab.
6. Scroll down and find the privilege "Save Results and Calibrations in Review". Clear the selection of this privilege.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This allows a user to take a sample into review, modify the processing method, then apply the method to the sample to see if it works. If it does, the user can save the processing method, but not the result created by it. The user can only process the sample using background processing, also called batch processing.
