ANSWER

Waters does not test and therefore not not officially support running Empower via Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection.

Running Empower acquisition clients hosting SQD, SQD2, TQD detectors via Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection is known to be problematic and should not be used in these situations. Additionally the use of touchscreen monitors can cause additional issues.

This issue is under investigation by the Empower softweare development team (CRI-2782).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The issue with the use of Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection to run Empower is due to the fact that multiple different user logins via Remote Desktop Connection are treated like Fast User sessions which are not supported.
• If the customer uses Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a client to run Empower and encounters a problem, the customer must demonstrate that the problem is not related to the use of Remote Desktop Connection.
