Why is a calibration ID generated in Empower for samples when no standards have been processed? - WKB4838
Article number: 4838
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 2 and 3
- Calibration IDs
ANSWER
A calibration ID is still generated for a sample even when there are no standards processed in the sample set. This is because you cannot save a quantitated unknown sample without an associated calibration, which is already saved in the database.
- There is an "empty" calibration that is saved with that ID.
- It has curves with no points and all zero coefficients.
- You cannot see these "empty" calibrations in the Project Window.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The timestamp will be recorded against the user running the sample set, but Empower handles these actions automatically. You can also add the sequence number to the audit trail to confirm the order.
- It is expected the Run Sample and Created calibration are close (if clear calibration used)
- It is expected that Created Result and Created calibration are identical (if new PM with no curves linked is used)
