"Serial Number not valid for Company indicated" error when activating a license for Empower 3 - WKB414

SYMPTOMS

• Error message "Serial Number not valid for the company indicated. Please verify the spelling of your company name." when activating a license serial number on the Waters Licensing website

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 2 Feature Release 5 and higher
• Breeze 2
• Waters Licensing Wizard

CAUSE

• The company name entered on the licensing website does not match the company name Waters has listed in our database for the serial number entered.
• The serial number entered in the wizard does not match what the customer received.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Confirm the correct company name associated with the license serial number.
2. Verify serial number entered is correct.
3. Enter it into the Waters Licensing Wizard.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For Agilent LC and GC licenses provided by Agilent, you need to enter Agilent in Company name on the licensing website.
