Empower and Arc HPLC run sample sequence even when column heater/cooler is switched off - WKB268754

SYMPTOMS

• Column heater/cooler power turned off
• Empower still runs sequence to completion
• No faults in Empower message center

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3.7.0
• ACQUITY Arc
• ACQUITY Arc HPLC
• Arc HPLC 30-cm Column Heater/Cooler (part 186179100)

CAUSE

Unknown; CRI-6256 created for this issue

FIX or WORKAROUND

CRI-6256 was resolved in Driver Pack 2024 Release 1 (667007056DD).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Set up the system to initial conditions before launching a sample set.

The Arc HPLC column heater is made from the same unit as the Alliance column heater/cooler for which this is a known issue. However, the workaround noted for use with the Alliance cannot be used with an Arc HPLC.
