"Manual resolution required" error during method setup with Agilent LC - WKB262778

SYMPTOMS

• No changes to hardware or preconfiguration
• Method setup gives "System idle - instrument failure" message in the Empower Run Samples window
• Message center error shows "Method is inconsistent with current instrument configuration" error and Manual resolution required/Instrument failure error messages

ENVIRONMENT

• All Empower versions
• All ICF versions
• All Agilent LC instruments

CAUSE

Temperature control mode automatically changes from Variable to Constant temperature mode.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Right-click on sampler. Select mode > Temperature mode > Variable temperature mode.
