Error with headspace auxiliary transfer line configuration using Empower - WKB25431

SYMPTOMS

  • An Agilent 7697 "inconsistent extraction" error message appears in Empower
  • "HS7697A: Inconsistent extractions. No. of injections in sample set method should match the no. of extractions in instrument method"

CAUSE

Auxiliary transfer line configuration in the GC

FIX or WORKAROUND

Reconfigure the auxiliary transfer line configuration in the GC using this procedure:

  1. On the GC keypad press [Config].
  2. Scroll to the Thermal Aux plug you plugged the transfer line interface accessory into. It could be Thermal Aux 1, Thermal Aux 2, or Thermal Aux 3. For this example, we use Thermal Aux 1.
  3. Press [Enter].
  4. The screen should read:
    Configure Aux Heater 1
    “Unconfigured”
    A1 (OK)
  5. Press [Mode/Type].
  6. Select Install Heater and press [Enter].
  7. Power cycle the GC.
  8. Press [Config].
  9. Select Aux 1 and press [Enter].
  10. Select Auxiliary Type and press [Mode/Type].
  11. Scroll to G3520 Transfer line and press [Enter].
