Selection of Gas Sampling Valve option is unavailable in ICF 3.5.1 and ICF 3.6 - WKB246152
SYMPTOMS
- Unable to see Gas Sampling Valve option in the event section of the instrument method
ENVIRONMENT
- ICF 3.6
- ICF 3.5.1
- Empower 3
CAUSE
The option is unavailable.
FIX or WORKAROUND
Use the valve tab option instead of the event tab.
Take the following steps to use the Gas Sampling Valve.
1. Switch on GC.
2. From the GC front panel in a configuration, select valve 1 as GSV.
3. Scan GC from the Agilent PreConfig utility.
4. Create a new instrument method.
5. On the Option tab of the instrument method, select injector preference as GSV or Valve 1.
6. In Configuration > Miscellaneous > Valve configuration, select Valve type as Gas Sampling Valve.
7. In the Valve section of the instrument method, select valve = valve #1, Type = Gas Sampling Valve, Load time = as per requirement, and inject time = as per requirement.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In Load position, an external gas or liquid stream flows through a sampling loop and out to waste.
In Inject position, the filled sampling loop is inserted into the carrier gas stream.
Load time: amount of time (in minutes) the Valve should remain in its load position before switching to the inject position.
Inject time: amount of time (in minutes) the valve should remain in its inject position before returning to the load position.
Note: The procedure in this article is provided by the field team, and it worked per their testing.
