How to collect dual wavelength using a 2489 detector and Empower - WKB22933

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Collect dual wavelength at 256 and 400 nm where one channel is monitored with a wavelength shift. 
 

ENVIRONMENT

• 2489 UV/Vis Detector
• Empower 3

PROCEDURE

1. Open the Empower instrument method.
2. On the General tab, the wavelength mode should be single.
3. Enable Channel 1.
4. For Channel 1 wavelength info, specify 256.
5. In the Events tab table, specify X minutes and the value as 400 (X = value).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The region where the transition is made should be free of compounds eluting from the column.  

The detector typically auto zeros on wavelength change.
