No communication between Empower and ACQUITY H-Class - WKB22862

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument status OK says "No" for all units
• Control panel shows communication failure in Empower Run window

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower Enterprise
• LAC/E
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class

CAUSE

Rebooted instruments without rebooting LAC/E

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power-down everything.
2. Power-on the LAC/E, but do not open the software.
3. Power-on the SM-FTN first, then the QSM, and finish with the TUV. (Wait for one unit to finish initializing before moving to the next.)
4. Open the software.
