Agilent PreConfiguration tool cannot connect to 1260 LC - WKB221822

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot use Auto Configure within the Agilent PreConfiguration tool 

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Empower 3 
• Agilent 1260 
• ICF Support Layer 3.5

CAUSE

The dip switches are incorrect.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1.  On the back of the Agilent detector are dip switches.    

The number of detector dip switches may be six or 8.eight.

To set up systems with eight dip switches, use:

  1        2       3       4       5       6       7      8

          Off     Off    Off    Off    On    Off      Off   Off

To set up systems with six dip switches, use:

   1        2       3       4       5       6      

           Off     Off    Off    Off    On    Off    

2. Power cycle the Agilent detector—the stored IP address should be set.
