"Aborted Sample Set" in Action and a blank or missing user name in Empower Project Audit Trails - WKB198065

SYMPTOMS

• Empower does not capture the username in the Audit Trail record for the cases below.
  • During acquisition, if a user presses the "Stop Flow " button on the instrument
  • During acquisition, the system flow is interrupted because of instrument errors like "Lost Prime" or "System over pressure"
• In the Audit Trails Action, it shows Aborted Sample Set and Reason: User Aborted After Injection #1 Line # XX Sample set Aborted
• When the instrument causes a failure, the user name is not recorded in the project audit trail.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3.8.0 and later

CAUSE

This behavior is recorded as CRI-2839.

FIX or WORKAROUND

N/A. Empower is working as expected.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The Empower Project Audit Trail record does not show a username in the Username column when a user stops flow at the instrument. This is because Empower does not know what user stopped the flow.
• The Empower Project Audit Trail record does not show a username in the Username column when an instrument failure occurs.  This is because the failure was not caused by a user.
• In both cases above, in Empower version 3.7.1 and lower, the Reason shown in the Details column of the Project Audit Trail shows "User Aborted".
• In both cases above, in Empower version 3.8.0 and higher, the Reason shown in the Details column of the Project Audit Trail shows "Aborted".
• In Empower 3.8.0 and higher, when an abort is performed by a user during acquisition within Empower, the Reason shown in the Details column of the Project Audit Trail shows "User Aborted".
