SYMPTOMS

  • The Empower Raw Data Share is configured to use an IP address instead of the server name
  • The IP address of the server is changing

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower

CAUSE

The Empower Raw Data Share uses the format \\ipaddress\sharename, not \\servername\sharename.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Reconfigure the Empower Raw Data Share to use the format \\servername\sharename. If the IP address of the server changes in the future, there will be no impact to the Empower Raw Data Share.
