Agilent LC status "No" in node properties with Agilent ICF Support 3.4 on Empower 3 - WKB193558

SYMPTOMS

• After upgrading to Agilent ICF Support 3.4, Agilent 1200 always appears with status "No" in node properties
• Can communicate, control, and run LC using Agilent TestApp
• AgilentPlugInServer.exe process does not start in Task Manager, and when trying to start it manually, the following error occurs:

"AgilentPlugInServer.exe - System Error: The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 FR2 LAC/E
• Windows 7
• Agilent ICF Support 3.4

CAUSE

KB2999226 is not installed on the LAC/E.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Download KB2999226 from the Microsoft website (or reference this article) and install it on the LAC/E.
2. Restart the LAC/E.

KB2999226 was previously documented as a requirement in the Agilent ICF 3.0 release notes, but it is not documented in the Agilent ICF Support 3.4 release notes. This issue was recorded as CRI-3276.
