Unable to restore an Empower 2 project into Empower 3 - WKB17927

SYMPTOMS

• Error message when attempting to restore: "Project version - 7.21.00.00 Current version - 6.21.00.00, Would you like to attempt to update this project?"
• Allowing attempt to update yields "Update of project failed"
• When restoring a project from Empower 2 into Empower 3, the update process fails and deletes the project from Empower 3

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 2
  • Including FR5 HF1
• Empower 3
  • Including FR2 SR2 HF1

CAUSE

There are many possible causes of this error, but a common cause is a blank value for the injection vial number. 

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Restore the project back into Empower 2. 
2. Open the project and select the Injection tab.
3. If there are more than 1000 injections, modify the display from 1000 to 10000.
4. Click on the vial column to sort the list.
5. Vial 1 should be the top vial. If there are any blank injections, delete them. 
6. Back up the project and restore it into Empower 3.
