- Message center shows instrument failure at 10:30 pm
- Computer has Windows Updates enabled
- In the application log, there is an entry regarding the Oracle database rebooting at 11:30 pm; this means the computer was restarting at the time
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3 Personal
- ACQUITY UPLC
CAUSE
Windows Updates automatically restarted the computer at night, resulting in the run stopping and instrument failure. It is normal behavior for the pump to continue to pump solvent.
FIX or WORKAROUND
Turn off Windows Updates.
