ZQ "Instrument Failure" error in Empower - WKB1681

SYMPTOMS
- "Instrument Failure" error in Empower
- ZQ is communicating outside of Empower; it can be pinged, and the EPC can be rebooted via telnet
- The ZQ says YES on the Instruments tab in Empower Node Properties
- The ZQ yields the error messages in Run Samples when trying to connect to the system
- The tune page opens but no parameters can be changed
- A system without the ZQ works fine
- New system with ZQ shows "Function 1 is uncalibrated" error in the message center
- Default calibration loaded on the tune page
ENVIRONMENT
- ZQ 2000
- Empower 3
CAUSE
- Corrupted system
- The calibration file for the ZQ was not loaded
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Create a new system.
- Open up the Tune page for the ZQ.
- Go to Calibration > Calibrate Instrument.
- Go to File > Open and choose your calibration file.
- Go to Run Samples and monitor your system.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Calibration files are not stored as flat files in Empower; they are stored in the Oracle database as MS Tune and MS Calibration methods in the project.
