SYMPTOMS
- "Error 503: Service Unavailable" when launching WDM
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower 3 FR3 installed on a domain controller
- Empower 3 FR4 installed on a domain controller
CAUSE
This configuration has not been tested by Waters and is therefore unsupported.
WDM may not operate as expected if Empower 3 FR3/FR4 is installed on a server that is also acting as a domain controller.
FIX or WORKAROUND
No known resolution—Empower should be installed on a member server whenever possible.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Database backups are still possible using the legacy CS_COLD and CS_HOT backup scripts.
Other database management functions can be performed via sqlplus by Waters colleagues. Customers may not use sqlplus under the Waters Embedded Oracle License agreement.
