PCS 44067: Configuration 15 LAC/E32 image has incorrect power settings - WKB13966

SYMPTOMS

• Recurring, intermittent communication failures with ACQUITY modules
• Instrument failure reported in the Message Center
• Communication failure reported in the ACQUITY log

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Configuration 15 LAC/E32

CAUSE

The Configuration 15 LAC/E32 image has the incorrect power options set. For the Waters profile under Advanced settings, the PCI Express Link State Power Management is set to Maximum power savings (see attached screen captures). Reported as defect PCS # 44067.

FIX or WORKAROUND

For the Waters profile under Advanced settings, the PCI Express Link State Power Management setting should be changed to Off (see attached screen captures).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If this is not corrected, there may be intermittent disconnects or communication disruptions to instruments connected to interfaces that are in the PCI Express slots (i.e., IEEE BusLAC/E card, Ethernet network card).
