Agilent 6890 GC does not communicate in Empower - WKB13490

SYMPTOMS

• Agilent 6890 GC does not connect Instrument Status OK = "No" Serial port is configured correctly ommunication settings on the GC are configured correctly.

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 FR2 LAC/E Direct connection to the COM port Agilent 6890 GC.

CAUSE

Bad cable.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace cable: 441001561, Ser Cbl 15 ft 9-pin F/F Null Modem RoHS.
