SYMPTOMS

•  "Connection to the chromatography system lost" seen during analysis
•  Data file checksum error: Possible data corruption or modification of File \\: XXXX during review/process/report

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Perkin Elmer GCHS

CAUSE

Sampling rate was set very low (3.125 points per second) in the instrument method, which created the problem.
 

FIX or WORKAROUND

In this instance, setting the sampling rate to 12.5 points per second resolved the issue and the system is working as expected.
