Unable to lock method with lock method privilege enabled in Empower - WKB12367

SYMPTOMS

• Unable to lock method even though user has lock method privilege enabled and save method privilege disabled

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Configuration Manager
• Privileges
• Method properties

CAUSE

This is expected behavior because lock method and save method privileges are linked. If a user doesn't have the following privileges, they are unable to lock the methods:

• Save Instrument Methods
• Save Processing Methods
• Save Reporting Methods
• Save Methods Sets

FIX or WORKAROUND

To lock Methods requires the save method privilege.
