TEMP data file created in user's TEMP directory may grow fast enough to fill drive space in LAC/E - WKB112689

SYMPTOMS

• Error in the message center: “Instrument failure Bad data”
• Error in the message center: “Not enough memory resources are available to process this command” followed by “Chrom map view of file failed” 
• Server Busy in the Run Samples window

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Agilent Instrument Control Framework v3.2
• Agilent LC
• Agilent GC

CAUSE

Previous failure status of the Agilentpluginserver.exe can lead to this behavior.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. If a redundant file with the name “tempdatax” (where x is the file number of that channel) is seen on the user's TEMP directory, delete the file.

By default, the location of this file is C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp directory. Otherwise, this temp directory may be at a location configured by their IT administrator for the specific PC.

2. This issue is fixed in ICF 3.3 as part of fixing the "Instrument failure Bad data" error.
