ANSWER
The Empower user may observe a change of the Date Acquired timestamp for an injection and/or channel. Empower records a timestamp for Date Acquired when the sample injection process begins. This is reflected as "Waiting for Injection" in the status bar of the Run Samples window. Empower will then update the timestamp for Date Acquired when the injection transitions to the "Injection Running" state, after the sample is actually injected.
