Article number: 110351

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3
  • Perkin Elmer
  • GCHS

ANSWER

  1.  Ensure that PE drivers are appropriately matched with instrument configuration.
  2.  Increasing the frequency of restarts on LAC/E boxes may decrease the frequency of issues.
  3.  Waters recommends disabling the screen saver, hibernation mode, monitor shutdown, and automatic updates in the windows OS to help ensure uninterrupted operation and data collection.
  4.  Update .NET Framework drivers.
  5.  You should disable any tasks that might start running in the background during data acquisition (such as virus scanners, automatic disk de-fragmentation, Microsoft disk indexing services) to avoid performance degradation of the system.
  6.  Waters recommends that all systems undergo disk cleanup and defragmentation to ensure maximum free space and optimal performance.
  7.  Manage virtual memory.
  8. GCHS configuration: while creating system in Empower node, HeadSpace must be on top and GC below HeadSpace.
