Multisequence Methods

Article number: 286367

Following the release of Instrument Control Software Release 13.2, the user now has the ability to perform multisequence methods on the Waters SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS. This new feature enables the user to perform a mixture of single pass, multipass, top and tail, and slicing experiments in a single analysis thus reducing the number of experiments required per sample, and increasing the flexibility of the system.

Notes:

  • The data generated are currently only compatible with MassLynx (R9) and (modified) Driftscope 3.0.
  • Care must be taken to match the overall scan-to-scan cycle times with the chromatography e.g. if you stack a single pass, a multipass, and a slicing sequence together, the cycle time must be considered to ensure that the fidelity of the chromatographic separation is maintained.

  1. Multisequence Methods Example - Driftscope

Multisequence data can only be processed manually as workflow-based software packages are not available.

Notes:

  • Driftscope v3.0 requires modification to work with any multisequence data. Instructions on this are included with the release 13.2 installer.
  • Software release R13.2 comes with a specific MassLynx release (R9) to enable these changes.

By exporting to MassLynx and retaining drift time, the mobilograms of individual functions can be visualised (after any appropriate manual processing like RT selection).

Note: A software "bug" within Driftscope causes the DT scale to be incorrectly displayed, however, data exported from Driftscope to MassLynx will display the correct arrival times:
