How to install, setup and maintain the SELECT SERIES MALDI setup source

To insert and clean the SELECT SERIES MALDI setup source: 

1. Remove and clean the hexapole (see How to remove and clean the SELECT SERIES MALDI hexapole for more information).
2. Insert the SELECT SERIES MALDI setup source using the guide rail.

3. With the source pressed tightly against the O-ring, tighten the screws until they are finger tight.

4. Connect the gas line, source ID and RF connection.

5. Connect the sample line to the syringe drive.
6. Select Pump on the tune page. 
7. Open the isolation valve.
   Note: The source is now functioning.

To remove the source and re-insert the hexapole:

1. Close the isolation valve
2. Vent the SELECT SERIES MALDI setup source
3. To remove the SELECT SERIES MALDI setup source, disconnect the gas line, source ID, RF connection, and the sample line.
4. Clean the SELECT SERIES MALDI setup with nitrogen and store it.
5. Re-insert the hexapole using the guide rail.
