SYMPTOMS

• Baseline monitor doesn't appear after pressing the Equilibrate/Monitor button when specifying the instrument method
• The instrument is running as set in the instrument method

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• 2998 Photodiode Array Detector

CAUSE

Project environment and instrument method issues

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Customize the channels
   Right-click on the monitor and select "Customize Channels" to modify the wavelength on the displayed window.

2. Copy the preferences
   If Solution 1 does not help, try "Copy Preferences"
   For detailed procedures, seeHow do I copy user preferences in Empower? - WKB22620.
   Select System and Default for the Copy from, select System and the project in question for the Copy to.

3. Create a new project, instrument method, and method set
   If solutions 1 and 2 do not help, create a new project.
   In the New Project Wizard, clear all the check boxes on Copy Selection page to create a completely new project.
   After creating a new project, specify the new project to reopen the Run Sample window, and create a new instrument method and method set.
