SYMPTOMS
- High delta pressure
- 2545 QGM pump fails static leak test
- One pump head cannot compress to the same pressure as the other one
ENVIRONMENT
- 2545 Quaternary Gradient Module
CAUSE
The pump head and the support bushing were not assembled correctly during the previous maintenance, leading to misalignment in the pump head and causing damage to the plunger seal and seal wash seal.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Disassemble the pump head and replace the seals.
- Assemble the pump head, taking care to assemble the pump head and the support bushing correctly. Tighten the two screws little by little to ensure alignment.
