SYMPTOMS

• Pump stops between each stage of method
• Pump resumes flow rate after a few seconds

ENVIRONMENT

• Bio-Botanical Extraction System (BBES)
• Chromscope 1.6

CAUSE

This is expected behavior.

FIX or WORKAROUND

No resolution is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The pumps for the BBE system stop momentarily between stages of the method to allow for the movement of valves. If the valves were to change position amid normal flow rates, the pressure would spike, risking failure of a rupture disk.
