Alliance: "A request for instrument configuration has failed" - WKB228386

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot establish a connection with Alliance
• Alliance visible in DHCP
• Scanning for instrument in Node properties shows the Alliance status as "Yes"
• Pinging the IP address of the Alliance is successful—no lost data packet
• On the Run screen, a message at the bottom states Instrument failure for 2690/5
• Message center error messages include "A communication failure has occurred" and "A request for instrument configuration has failed"

CAUSE

Bad Ethernet cable 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the unshielded Ethernet cable with a shielded cable (441000456 - 5 ft. cable).
