Analyzer vacuum failure for Xevo TQ MS after rebooting the instrument for a communication failure - WKB98741

SYMPTOMS

• Communication error for Xevo TQ MS in the ACQUITY MS Console
• Hardware reboot of the system
• Analyzer vacuum failure error for the Xevo TQ MS in System Status after the hardware reboot

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ MS
• Xevo TQD

CAUSE

During the hardware reboot of the Xevo TQ MS, the mass spectrometer was powered-off.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open MS Tune from the Instrument Shortcut in MassLynx.
2. From the Vacuum menu, select PUMP.
3. On the Diagnostics tab of the Tune page, monitor the turbo pump speed.
4. When the turbo pump speed reaches 100% for both turbo pumps, the system is ready for use.
