SYMPTOMS

• SQD TQD MS chromatogram and the MS spectrum are both jagged.

CAUSE

1. The probe tip and sample cone are contaminated and discharged.

2. The conductive sleeve in the probe is missing or damaged.

3. The capillary tube protrudes too much from the liner tube.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace with a new probe tip and clean the sample cone. Replace the capillary just in case.
2. Replace the conductive sleeve with a new one.
3. Try to make the length of the capillaries protruding from the liner tube flush(hellaflush) with the tube. If this helps, adjust to the proper length.
