Extremely poor sensitivity with Xevo QTof MS - WKB93312

SYMPTOMS

• Extremely poor sensitivity noticed on both sample and LockSpray with Xevo QTof MS
• If lower the capillary voltage of the lock spray to about 0.3kV, the sensitivity will increase a little.
• If make the spray direction of the lock spray probe slightly away from the sample cone, the sensitivity will increase a little.
• Replacing everything from the consumable to the FEP red O-ring on the lock spray probe does not help.

• Xevo QTof MS

CAUSE

Discharge due to dirt on the sample cone.
