Xevo TQS roughing pump vented on its own - WKB8905

SYMPTOMS

• roughing pump vented spontaneously 

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-S
• Xevo TQD
• Xevo TQ

CAUSE

Not enough oil in the roughing pump

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power off the mass spectrometer.
2. Add oil to roughing pump.
3. Power on the mass spectrometer.
4. Wait three minutes for EPC to fully boot.
5. Open MassLynx, tune page, and select pump.
6. Let the mass spectrometer pump down for four hours prior to testing (overnight for critical samples).
