OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Restore a Xevo TQD dry (solvent wash) fluidics pump.

The fluidics system has no diagnostic tool to determine if air is present in the system, so the wash solution and sample solutions (the tubing from the bottle to the select valve) require purging a number of times to ensure all air is removed. The best way to ensure that this is completed is by changing the reservoir to wash and back to the two separate positions a number of times.
Verify that tubing from the wash bottle to the diverter valve is not clogged.
Verify that waste tubing is not clogged.
Verify that tubing from the pump is not leaking.
Verify that the stator is not leaking or over-tightened.
Verify all remaining connections to the diverter valve.
Add 100% IPA (preferably LC-MS grade) to the MS's contamination-free wash bottle.
Ensure that the wash line is in the wash bottle.
On the tune page fluidics tab, set the Fill drop-down options to: Reservoir to Wash, Fill Volume to 250 µL, Wash 20 times when purging.
Purge fluidics using the Purge command in the fluidics tab or on the ACQUITY console Interactive Fluids page. (Purging 20 times should drive out any air bubbles from the pump.)
Additionally, purge wash lines A and B with isoproan-2-ol multiple times.
Restore normal MS wash solvent to wash bottle, and set Fill > Wash to 3 times when purging and purge to restore system.
