SYMPTOMS

• Error seen in console: "Nitrogen gas failure"

CAUSE

Unstable nitrogen supply, or the instrument draws from a finite supply (such as a dewar) that runs out of N₂.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Ensure that the nitrogen supply is at the correct pressure (98 +/- 4 psi).
2. In the MS Tune page, click the Gas pull-down menu and choose Reset Nitrogen Failure.
3. Verify that the error message has cleared.
