Cannot turn off the collision energy - WKB684
Article number: 684
SYMPTOMS
- The collision energy stays high even when a low collision energy is set on the tune page
- Fragment ions are observed even at low collision energies, and there is no source leak
- Parent ions are no longer observed
- This high collision energy is also observed when running from the sample list
ENVIRONMENT
- QTof Premier
- Synapt HDMS
- SYNAPT G2
- SYNAPT G2-S
- SYNAPT G2-Si
- Xevo QTof
- Xevo G2
- Xevo G2-S
- Xevo G2-XS
CAUSE
Corrupted nonstorage files
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Exit MassLynx.
- Browse to the C:\MassLynx\Instrument_Folder—for example, Fastnet (Xevos), QTof P (Q-Tof Premier), or Bluewater (Synapts)
- Sort by file type and delete all of the exp and ipr files. There should be about five of them depending on the instrument. Example:
- autotune.exp
- calibration.exp
- nonstorageexp.exp
- tuneexp.exp
- tuneprm.ipr
- Open MassLynx and you should find that these files have been re-created and the collision energy is at the set point.
