MALDI plate position errors - WKB63639

SYMPTOMS

• When loading or unloading a plate, a plate positioning error occurs with the suggestion "re-index to clear" (see error below)
  • The load/unload icon is now red
    • Try to re-index by clicking the red load/unload
• 
• Eventually the system stops responding and a reboot of EPC and/or electronics is necessaryto regain control

ENVIRONMENT

• MALDI
• SYNAPT G2
• SYNAPT G2-S
• SYNAPT G2-Si

CAUSE

The hexapole RF is set to 450 or 550, depending on your SCN and instrument type.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Change the hexapole RF to 350 and save the instrument system setting.
   • Go to the System view.
   • Go to the System menu.
   • Go to RF Settings.
   • Change hexapole RF to 350.
2. Close MassLynx and reboot electronics and EPC.
3. When back in MassLynx, verify that the hexapole RF has been corrected to 350.
