SYMPTOMS

• Condensation on sample cone
• No droplets when flow rate is less than 0.3 mL/min
• Desolvation temperature = 450 °C
• Source temperature = 140 °C
• Desolvation gas flow rate = 250 L/h
• Starting eluent composition = 100% aqueous

ENVIRONMENT

• Quattro Micro

CAUSE

Source settings are not correct for adequate desolvation.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Desolvation temperature recommendation: 600 to 650 °C
2. Desolvation gas flow rate recommendation: 1000 L/h
3. Source temperature recommendation: 150 °C
