No communications with Xevo G2-XS QTof after performing building maintenance - WKB53787

SYMPTOMS

• System powered-off for building maintenance and repairs.
• No communications with mass spectrometer when powered back on.
• EPC not responding error.
• Instrument status in MassLynx: No instrument present.
• Found: UPLC system was powered-off.

CAUSE

ACQUITY UPLC system was powered-off.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close MassLynx and ACQUITY MS Console.
2. Power-off the MS if it is vented (if not vented, see additional information below).
3. Power-on the UPLC starting with the sample manager.
4. Once all UPLC components are powered-on, turn on the MS.
5. Wait three minutes for instrument to initialize.
6. Open MassLynx.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: If the MS is not vented, ignore step 2 and restart the electronics in step 4 (see WKB822 for instructions).
