  • "Instrument not present" error for MS status in MassLynx
  • Communication errors in ACQUITY MS Console for SM-FTN, QSM, and PDA Detector

  • ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector
  • MassLynx 4.1

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. In ACQUITY MS Console, highlight the Sample Manager FTN in the system tree in the left-hand panel.
  2. Go to Control > Reset SM from the menu.
  3. Highlight the QSM in the system tree.
  4. Go to Control > Reset QSM from the menu.
  5. Highlight the PDA in the system tree.
  6. Go to Control > Reset PDA from the menu.
  7. Close MassLynx and the ACQUITY MS Console.
  8. From the desktop, go to START > Run.
  9. Specify telnet epc in the Run dialog.
  10. In the Telnet window, at the blinking cursor, type reboot and hit Enter.
  11. Wait two minutes.
  12. Open MassLynx and the ACQUITY MS Console.
  13. Highlight the QDa in the system tree in the left-hand panel and hit Operate on the right-hand side of the Console.
