Cannot put mass spectrometer into Standby or turn off the API gas from the tune page or the ACQUITY MS console - WKB46204

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot put mass spectrometer into Standby; button is unresponsive
• Cannot turn off API gas; button is unresponsive
• Found: MS status at bottom of sample list page is "Instrument Present"

ENVIRONMENT

• All Ethernet-based mass spectrometers controlled by MassLynx

CAUSE

No communication between MassLynx PC and embedded PC (EPC)

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close MassLynx
2. Reboot the MassLynx PC.
3. Log in to Windows but do not start MassLynx.
4. Push the reset button on the mass spectrometer to reboot the EPC.
5. Wait until EPC reboots. Can take up to 3 minutes.
6. Open MassLynx.
