ACQUITY Standard QDa turbo timeout - WKB3794

SYMPTOMS

• ACQUITY QDa crash vented during acquisition.
• ACQUITY QDa failing to pump back down, only reaches 40% turbo speed.
• Turbo pump power very high (>70W)
• Turbo speed does not reach 100%
• Cannot pump down

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector (Standard)

CAUSE

Diaphragm pump not performing at optimum efficiency.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Rebuild the diaphragm pump using the service kit #700009680.
2. Contact ESTC refurb program for replacement.
3. If new installation consider replacing the diaphragm pump with new #700009640.

Pump down instrument.

Verify that turbo pump power is now within normal range (around 45W)
