Mass spectrometer status for QDa in MassLynx remains "Waiting for inlet start" after injection is made - WKB3404

SYMPTOMS

• System was recently moved
• QDa does not start acquisition
• QDa Status remains "Waiting for Inlet Start 1" after injection
• Real-time chromatogram display does not open
• Message at end of run: "No data collected"

ENVIRONMENT

• Fraction Collection System
• 2767 Sample Manager
• ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector

CAUSE

A broken contact closure wire

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Connect a new/repaired contact closure wire between pins 1 and 2 on the 2767 and pins 5 and 6 on the QDa.
2. Connect a new/repaired contact closure wire between pins 1 and 2 on the 2767 and pins 1 and 2 on the PDA.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The two contact closure wires are piggy backed in the terminal connector, pins 1 and 2, on the 2767 Sample Manager.
