How to reboot the EPC on Xevo instruments using Telnet - WKB274059

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Reboot the EPC (embedded PC) on a Xevo system.

(This is required after restarting the acquisition PC and/or MassLynx.)

• Xevo TQ-XS

• Xevo G2 QTof

• Xevo G2-XS QTof

PROCEDURE

1. Using the start menu, type "cmd".
2. Open the "Command Prompt" app.
3. In the command prompt app, type "telnet epc". This gives direct command control of the embedded PC in the MS via telnet.
4. Type "reboot" in the window next to the "->". This restarts the embedded PC on the MS.
5. After five minutes, you can log back in to MassLynx.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This procedure should work on most Waters mass spectrometers.
