APCI probe temperature fails to settle - WKB26904

SYMPTOMS

• Sample runs fail randomly with the error "probe failed to settle"

ENVIRONMENT

• SQD2
• Empower

CAUSE

When the system is preparing for the next injection, the MS settings are momentarily changing to the tune page values before the method is downloaded. If the APCI probe temperature settings are different, the probe might not be ready within the required timeframe.

This can occur if the tune page is set to APCI+ when running APCI- and the two tune pages have different temperature settings.

 

FIX or WORKAROUND

Change the displayed tune page to that of the correct ionization mode and polarity.
