QDa Voltage Readback failure - WKB261154

SYMPTOMS

• Voltage Readback error seen in Console
• Power cycle of instrument alone does not clear the error

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector

CAUSE

Critical readback check report shows one or more of the following checks fail:

Ion Guide 1 Offset (Lens 4) Readback
StepWave Head Gradient (Lens 5) Readback
Step Wave Offset (Lens 6) Readback
StepWave Body Gradient  (Lens 7) Readback
Source Offset (Lens 8) Readback
Sample Cone Voltage (Lens 3) Readback
Impactor Readback
Dynode Voltage Readback
Phosphor Voltage Readback
SnowBoy RF Amplitude Readback

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power-off the QDa.
2. Close the software.
3. Reboot the PC.
4. Log in to Windows.
5. Power-on the QDa.
6. Wait 2-3 minutes.
7. Open the software and confirm communication connection.

The Critical Readback report can be found in the console when using MassLynx or in the following directory when using Empower: :\Empower\Instruments\Log\MS Reports.
